This is the dramatic moment a carpenter sends terrified tool thieves fleeing when he catches them in the act of stealing his tools - before they callously try and run him over while making their getaway. Footage shows a red Citroen car pulling up outside a house in Askern, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, before two men in tracksuits jump out. They are then seen rummaging through a van and trying to take equipment off the driveway. It is at this point that Paul Duffy, 39, who was working in the house, spots them and gives chase, causing the thieves to drop some of the equipment. The father-of-two then throws a plank of wood at one of the assailants, who dashes back into the rear of the car.
