Ministry of railways halted/suspended recruitment in Indian Railways for its class-A officers since 2019. The well practiced system for the recruitment of young Class A officers for Indian Railways was functioning appropriately untill 2019. The Indian railways pulled back the tender for the recruitment of class-A officers overnight while preliminary exams were already conducted for the said posts. The recruitment process was being practiced legitimately by UPSC( Union Public Service Commission) through two combined exams. Technical officers were being recruited through UPSC ESE( Engineering Services Examination) and Non-technical officers through UPSC CSE(Civil Services Examination). Union govt has proposed a new cadre named IRMS(Indian Railway Management Service) i.e. unification of eight existing services of Indian Railways which are listed below:- (a) Civil Services Examination for • Indian Railway Traffic Service(IRTS) • Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) • Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) (b)Enginnering Services Examination for • Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) • Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers(IRSME) • Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers(IRSEE) • Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers(IRSSE) • Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) It's been 2 years without any recruitment in Class A services of Indian Railways, the biggest organization of India. Aspirants are prepared and preparing for this prestigious organization but their dreams seems too be faded day by day as there is no news regarding the IRMS notification. The vacancies released by central govt has been dwindled & diminished so as in many state govts. When we go through the vacancies tally of UPSC ESE , or CSE. It's really heart wrenching & appalling when highly qualified & well deserving youths are living with depression & distress due to not having even a low profile job and still taking alimony from their parents.
