2008-2011 Ford Focuses (5-speed manual transmission) There are two switches on your clutch pedal. One of them (safety switch / interrupter switch) is mainly used by the car’s computer to ensure the driver has the clutch pedal fully depressed before starting the vehicle. The other (clutch pedal position switch) is mainly used by the car’s computer to verify that the clutch is fully engaged (pedal not depressed). In this video, I show how to replace BOTH switches with the correct part numbers from Ford. If your car has trouble starting (won’t crank over) or acts oddly when shifting, you might need to replace one or both of these switches.
