Midsummer, or Juhannus in Finnish, is one of the most important festivals in Finland celebrating the season of summer and sunlight. This video is from the last day of our three day celebrations. As you saw in the previous videos, we celebrate the midsummer with family, food and games. On the last day, we came to Ahvenisto lakeside where Raimo had booked a family sauna for us. So the day was about swimming in the cold lake and going back into a hot sauna... and repeating it all again. We also had some traditional Finnish barbeque of sausages by the lakeside which reminded me of all my childhood summers. In this video, you'll also see Annika getting a surprise gift - a pink bicycle. Later we went to the athletics track where we did some physical exercises and introduced Annika to running, jumping etc. Ever since starting up our family in India, it has been my dream to take my husband Vinod and our daughter Annika to celebrate the midsummer and experience the summer in Finland.
