Laburnum for my Head is a short story by Tensula Ao, the famous lndian writer. The story focuses on feministic perspective and the role of women in patriarchal society. Lentina loves Laburnum (Golden Shower) flowers as they stoop to earothward which shows their humility and humble nature. It is equal to female qualities. She tried to plant it in her garden but failed. At last she bought a place near cemetery to have Laburnum flowers for her head as crown after her death. She does all these with the help of her driver Babu (Mapu) .All the cemeteries are filled with Marble or granite tombs. Lentina planted laburnum plant in the new cemetery. Town Committee take up her plot by accepting her conditions. , The tree bears flowers. In the beginning, it carries very few flowers.but Babu doesn't reveal it to Lentina fearing her old age and death. Next year the Lentina visits the cemetery with Babu and Maid but there are no flowers At last the tree bear with lot of flowers. Babu Rush to inform it to her but she says that she felt it in her bones. On the 5th day, she made a bath and went to bed. She died in sleep.
