How to Replace a Torque Converter Seal | 1995 Ford F150

In this video, I show you how to replace the torque converter seal on this 4r70w transmission in my 1995 Ford F150. The seal only leaked during the winter when I would start or turn off my truck. I believe the seal deformed due to overheating. I didn't replace it with a Viton seal though. So far it is leak free. First, you will need to remove your transmission. Once the transmission has been removed, you can access the TC seal. Using a seal puller, pry at the seal and it should come loose. Clean up the seal area and make sure it is free of old RTV and dirty. Apply 500 degree fast drying RTV to the outer and underside of the seal. Then set the seal over its seating area. Using a 2-1/2 pipe CPVC conduit, tap the seal into place until fully seated.
