This is what an Autogear M23Z sounds like. For those not in the know, it is built by a company called Autogear in Syracuse New York. They build reproduction 4 speed manual transmissions based off of the original Muncie M22. The only difference is, unlike the original Muncie transmissions, Autogear builds theirs much stronger, with thicker cases, iron midplates, your choice of input/output shafts and even your choice of ratios. Yes, these are built to order depending on your desires. The M23Z I have has a 2.99 1st gear, a 2.22 2nd gear, a 1.46 3rd gear and a 1.00 4th gear. Autogear says the M23Z like mine can be ran with a 572 big block Chevy, or 700 + hp. This M23Z is powered by a Dart SHP 400 sbc with all forged internals, Dart SHP heads and a McLeod clutch with QuickTime bell housing. A 3.55 10 bolt rounds out the rear. (12 bolt rear is in the near future)
