"Epic III" - Hadestown Cover

The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is beautifully told through Anais Mitchell's "Hadestown", which was written years ago, has been on Broadway, and will be in Korea quite soon! This song is called "Epic III" and is the song Orpheus sings to Hades in an attempt to convince the king of the underworld to allow him to bring Eurydice, his lover, back home. I've had a lot of love for this song ever since I first heard it, and in the past few months, I've been thinking about finally making a full cover! Oh pá. The entire musical is GORGEOUS!! Check out any version of it on Spotify, you'll love it. It holds many truths about the state of the world, the objectivity of truth that drives us and pushes us, no matter how harsh or encouraging we perceive it to be, doubt, the walls we build, the walls we brave, and the transcendentality of love along with the corruption of it. I'm grateful for the ears I have to have heard this story, and the heart I have to love it :) And the fingers to play the song and, even when it shakes and hits disappointing flats, the voice to sing the words. Thank you Justin Vernon for being Orpheus in 2010, thank you Damon Daunno for being Orpheus in 2017, and thank you Reeve Carney for being Orpheus in 2019. Your voices inspire me greatly :) Thank you Hadestown for the care you put into the story we get to enjoy, and most of all, thank you Anais Mitchell for the love, art, and light you bring to us all through your work.
