He criticised his estranged brother’s administration, citing escalating restrictions on civil liberties, increased asylum seekers, and recent financial scandals involving Singaporean institutions, which he claims reflect declining anti-corruption standards. In response, Singapore’s government dismissed the allegations as a “personal vendetta” and a smear campaign, adding that LHY and his wife left voluntarily and remain free to return. LHY, however, maintains he will continue to speak out against what he describes as abusive and unfounded actions by the Singaporean authorities, hoping for change within his lifetime.
