Meet "Tango Tache" - British Beard and Moustache Championships

Competitors who paid £20 each to enter the Championships were vying for the ultimate bragging rights and a tankard with a moustache on it.   Just like the dog show “Crufts”, there were different categories for the fuzzy-faced competitors.   Categories of moustache included: Natural, English, and Freestyle. Partial Beard categories were Natural Goatee, Musketeer, Freestyle, and Sideburns Freestyle.   The Bath Pavilion which has hosted many events from Political conferences to pop concerts was packed with over ?? cheering fans for this most unusual spectacle as the Britishness, albeit in a more flamboyant style.   The competition entrants appeared to be enjoying every second and many were dressed in ludicrous outfits to match their ludicrous facial hair. A tremendous amount of priming and preening goes on behind closed doors before the competition takes place. One interesting character in the competition was Southampton's town crier, Alan Spencer.
