Calathea and Humidity issue? When you start to buy exotic plants and soon you discover leaf browning on edges, first thing you will find on google is "HUMIDITY". Let's dive into it! For happier plants humidity is good above 55% and for us humans it's 50%. There are certain plants which requires over 70% humidity and terrariums are best for them. I have used spray method and pebble method to check the change in humidity and for how long. This experiment will not be showing much positive results if your room is huge or you have source of hot air on (fireplace or electric hot air radiator) . I have tested this on central heating on so please keep that in mind. I hope it was worth it if it helps you in anyway. If you have space in kitchen, it is best place for humid loving plants after bathroom. If you cook a lot it can be heaven for them.
