Before the Salem Witch Trials, women and men were accused, tried, and hanged for witchcraft throughout colonial Connecticut. That was some nine generations ago. But some of their descendants still call Connecticut home and still carry some of that pain. A resolution in the state Senate seeks to heal a dark moment in the past. Copies of 17th-century indictments are on display at the Wethersfield Historical Society detailing why Connecticut courts tried 34 people for witchcraft between 1647 and 1663. This is the full interview with Wethersfield Historical Society librarian Martha Smart. --- ➡️Subscribe to FOX61 for exclusive content: / foxctlive ➡️Visit our website: https://www.fox61.com/ Follow FOX61 News on social media! ➡️FACEBOOK: / fox61news ➡️TWITTER: / fox61news ➡️INSTAGRAM: / fox61news Download the FOX61 News APP ➡️ iTunes: Click here to download ➡️ Google Play: Click here to download Watch us On Demand with FOX61+!
