Written and inspired by my new island home on Kauai, the garden isle. As a child I grew up swimming and playing in the ocean here, and falling in love brought me here as an adult. Enjoy this original mele (song) and Hawaiian lyrics intertwined. Deep gratitude for this life and all involved in the creation of this song and video. The Oli (Hawaiian chant) in the song comes from the Kumulipo (creation chant of Hawaii), describing the birth of the sacred Kalo/taro plant (featured on the cover art) and was taught to me by my Kumu A’ia’i Bello. LYRICS: In the misty mountain tops my ancestors watch over me Raining down ka ua (the rain) upon the ulu trees We're dreaming in this future of living off the land Keiki o ka aina (children of the land) walking hand in hand We're harvesting mea 'ai (food stuffs) to feed our hearts and souls Our love is shining far and wide across our island home Blessings to all who have come before and those who have yet to come Blessings to those who are with us now To all our relations we bow Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua May the waters of Honua (the earth) return back to the sea Mahalo e na akua (thank you creator) for guiding and blessing me Our hearts and minds are open to your sweet gifts of grace We pray for peace and healing for all of the human race We pray for the waters the wind and the fire the heavens above and the earth below Amama ua noa (the prayer has been set free) Amama ua noa Amama ua noa E pule kakou (together we pray) Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua Mahalo Ke Akua Ka puka haloa ku ma ka pe'a Kanu ia Haloa Ulu ha ha loa o ka lau o Haloa i ke ao la puka Filmed in Makaleha, Kauai Music video produced by Chelsea Rose Putnam Music produced by Chris Pineapple
