Sequoia's Recovery - Part 2

In this video, we're sharing an update on our siberian husky Sequoia's emergency treatment due to a stroke. Thanks to the outpouring of support from our YouTube community on a live stream, we were able to get the medical care she needed and we have began the first steps to recovery. Thank you to everyone who helped reach this goal and for those who have reached out about her progress. Huge shoutout to Chris for sending the epic doggie wheelchair! #huskylovers #dogrecovery #siberianhusky Our next step is to get started with Pet Rehabilitation and Hydro Physical Therapy. There is a specialist near us that we are going to start booking classes with. https://stridecaninerehab.com/ I am not sure of the daily fees of this and how long it will take to gain mobility back to sequoia but know that your donations will be used solely for this treatment at this time. if you would like to contact me privately my email is [email protected] -Josh Sequoia's Diagnosis: "A fibrocartilaginous embolism, or FCE, occurs when a piece of the intervertebral disc (the cushion between the bones of your spine) breaks off and enters the blood supply to the spinal cord. It blocks the blood supply to part of the spine, which causes neurologic signs. What is the treatment for an FCE? Some neurologists recommend treating with steroids or vasodilators (medications to “open” up the blood vessels); however, there is no proof that these medications will speed or improve recovery. There is some evidence that controlled physical therapy is beneficial for dogs with FCE. Your Veterinary Neurologist can provide you with rehabilitation instructions and assisted walking devices for your dog." https://www.vetspecialists.com/vet-bl....
