Just A Shave: Razorock SLOC - Astra Platinum - Spearhead Lavender Vanilla - Oumo Manchuria

Error: Mistakenly assumed this razor was from Yaqi, but it looks like it is from Razorock and called the "Self Lubricating Open Comb". ---- Got this razor and soap as a part of a box purchase. Glad to bring the razor here, since I have seen it around a lot. But especially looking forward to trying Spearhead soap for the first time. Razor: Razorock - Self Lubricating Open Comb (SLOC) Blade: Astra - Superior Platinum (4) Lather: Spearhead Shaving Co - Lavender Vanilla Brush: Oumo - Manchuria SHD Finest Wolf Whiskers 2019 Meetup 24mm (7 uses) Post: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag Razor and Blade Notes - Yaqi - Double Open Comb ::: Astra - Platinum (4 uses): The razor really did well. I think the open comb on the top cap is a gimmick, but in spite of that, this razor does hold on pretty tight to the blade. I did enjoy my shave. I like a vintage Tech better. And as for another zamak razor I might like better, I'd go with the ultra smooth Baili BD176. But if you now have this razor, and you didn't pay more than 20 USD for it, I think you got an okay deal and have a good razor for the money. Soap Notes - Spearhead Shaving Co - Lavender Vanilla: Them: "Tonka, Bergamot, Vanilla, Lavender, Cedar, Coriander ... Formula 20.1E: This formula has proven to be a winner in lather quality, slickness and post shave. It performs as well, if not better, than the 17.x but is easier to lather and far less thirsty." The vanilla is not too strong here... if you like vanilla. Which I'm starting to think is just not for me as a shave product. At least as a dominant note. Lather: Really really nice lather. Creamy, smooth, held water well. Competes with the top out there, from this first impression. Hydration: Perfect (for me) 0.25 tsp soap with a Lightly-Wet brush 5 tsp added to make lather = 6 passes of lather Bowl: Roger Quintero 3D Printed Bowl I use the XL version of this bowl. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:339... Brush Notes - Oumo - Manchuria SHD Finest Wolf Whiskers 2019 Meetup 24mm (7 uses): Really loving this brush! easy splay. a bit less backbone than the maggard shd it seems, and that's perfect for me! really soft tips. *Shave Quality* During the Shave Feel: Cheeks: Felt blade but comfortable Neck: Felt blade but comfortable After the Shave Closeness: Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get Neck: Cut flush to where I just see the tips (above average for me) I'm gradually adding answers to frequent questions here: http://www.sugardaddyshaves.com Wetshaving is the age-old shaving method where you create a lather from a soap or cream, usually with a brush. And these days, we also usually mean using a safety razor (aka double edge or DE) or single edge or straight razor to remove the hair. We often enjoy less irritated skin, healthier skin, more enjoyable shaves, and often closer shaves than those who use a multi-bladed cartridge and canned shaving foam.
