Beautiful Answer From Ibn Taymiyyah - Sh Abdurrazzaq

This Might Just Be The Most Beautiful Answer I’ve Heard in My Life From Ibn Taymiyyah Sh Abdurrazzaq Al Badr Sheikh Abdur Razzaq Al Badr explains a beautiful fatwa of Ibn Taymiyyah, which presents the solution to various problems that the Muslim Ummah face today. It explains the solution for depression, anxiety, confusion and lenience to committing sins. The Sheikh reccomended to his students that they share it with as many people as possible. Shaikh Ul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, May Allah be pleased with him and grant him Jannah, was asked: What is the cure for the one who has been controlled by disease (of desire)? And what is the way out for the one who has been dominated by chaos (of being lost in desire)? And what should the one who has been overcome by laziness do? And what is the way to success? And how can the one who has been overtaken by confusion escape this? If he seeks to grow closer to Allah, his desires prevent him to do so? If he seeks to remember Allah, he is overwhelmed by (dunya-related) thoughts. If he wants to do productive work, he loses his spirit to do so. Desire has taken over him, so you see him in constant confusion and contemplation; he is drunk of desire. If he seeks to grow closer to those he loves (e.g. relatives), his motivation (to do so) becomes scattered (I.e it weakens) so he continues to abandon them. He has abandoned his relatives and acquaintances so that he may accumulate wealth, and find those who can help him attain it. So he (Ibn Taymiyyah) answered: It’s cure is to seek refuge in Allah the most high, and to constantly humble yourself to Allah (glory be to him), and to supplicate by learning the duas that have been narrated from the prophet Muhammad, and seek to make dua at times in which you are likely to be answered, like the last part of the night (before Fajr), and at the time of Adhaan and Iqaamah, and in sujood (prostration), and at the end of the prayer (just before saying tasleem- assalamu Alaykum wa rahmatullah). And you should add to all of this istighfar (seeking forgiveness from Allah), for indeed, whomsoever seeks forgiveness from Allah then repents to him, Allah will grant him an enjoyment until an appointed time. You should also appoint for yourself adhkaar (remembrances) to say at the beginning and end of the day (Between Fajr and sunrise and between Asr and Maghrib)(these are known as adhkaar of the morning and adhkaar of the evening. You can find many examples of what to say in the Sunnah). And you should be patient upon anything you encounter that may hinder or prevent you (from attaining what you aim for), for indeed, Allah will assist you with a ruh (light, assistance and true guidance) from him and gather ‘Imaan in your heart. And be sure to complete your five daily prayers, with your inside (I.e by concentrating) and your outside (limbs), for indeed salah is the pillar that the religion is dependent upon. And let your Hujjayra (I.e. the thing you say frequently) be Laa Hawla wa Laa Quwwata Illaa Billah il ‘Aleeyy il ‘Adheem. because with this statement, you will be able to bear difficulties, deal with frightening situations, and attain the most lofty circumstances. And do not become tired of making dua and asking Allah, for indeed the slave (of Allah) will be answered, as long as he isn’t hasty, and doesn’t say: “I have made dua but have not been answered”. And know that victory comes with patience, relief comes with difficulty and ease comes with hardship, and that no one has ever attained any good, whether a prophet or a regular man, except with patience. And all praise is due to Allah, the lord of the worlds. But this only increased him in confusion and those whom he sought only neglected him - is that the case, such that he who seeks help from them is humiliated?
