Live footage of MELVINS playing at Legends in Tacoma, WA on 1/20/90. The band stops & restarts a few times due to excessive crowd violence. Matt Lukin (ex-MELVINS/MUDHONEY) & Krist Novoselic (ex-NIRVANA) are involved in the chaotic melee that ensues. MELVINS: King Buzzo - Guitar, Vocals Lorax - Bass Dale Crover - Drums, Vocals MELVINS are one of my favorite bands that have ever walked the planet. I saw them over 20 times from 1993-2002, from the Lorax days to the Rutmanis era. I had the pleasure of meeting our lord & master, the mighty King Buzzo, at Lollapalooza Fest in New Orleans in 1996. We talked for about 20 minutes as we watched Soundgarden together. We have some mutual friends (members of EYEHATEGOD, namely), so we hit it off quite well. Dale, I met on a separate occasion -- his side band ALTAMONT played a show here in NOLA in 1999 & he invited me to come to the CD-release party for MELVINS - 'The Maggot', which was held at Mushroom Record Store the next day. I took him up on his offer. ALTAMONT played in the record store, along w/ a few of my friends' bands. MELVINS are cool cats & you should support them any way you can.
