[HOW TO] Install OEM LED Bed Lighting in a 2015+ Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon (Plug-N-Play)

Adding LED illumination for the bed was simple and easy using the Genuine GM bed lighting kit. The part number I used was 23199878. This was a simple plug-n-play installation on my 2019 GMC Canyon. My research shows that this kit will fit 2016+ models that have the wiring already in place below the driver side headlight. This process will also be highly similar on Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. Those trucks also have the mounting locations in the bed, and a spare plug underneath the bed for the harness hookup. Check below for part numbers and links to those kits too. Adding to a 2015 model will require modification to factory harnesses, but it can be done.
