How to draw and paint the Kelpies

This lesson teaches how to draw the amazing Scottish landmark, The Kelpies. Towering about the landscape the 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures are located between Falkirk and Grangemouth. Our design shows you how to draw and paint the Kelpies using wonderfully mess-free watercolour pencils, although you can just colour in if you don't have paints! The lesson includes drawing techniques which break the drawing down step by step. The painting is done using watercolour pencils and is explained in the trademark Little Art School 'easy to follow' steps. We have created a design which can be used as a basis to move forward and adapt in your own creative way. You can simply draw the Kelpies, following the step by step lesson, or move on to paint the picture using the Little Art School's painting tips. This lesson was created by Little Art School as part of our #DailyDraw, free art classes offered to children everywhere during the Covid 19 lockdown. Our aim is was to give children and parents a free resource to provide a welcome art break which can form part of homeschooling during lockdown 2021.
