Mixer FX no AUX :: External Effects Pedal :: Small Mixer FX Loop :: MONO FX with No SENDS or RETURNS

In this video I run an external effects processor through a mixer without AUX sends or returns. You could run a variety of FX processors and sound equipment this way. In this case I am using the STEREO capabilities of the mixer to split the channels, so I can only run a MONO FX signal back into the mixer. Equipment: Mic: Shure SM57 (https://amzn.to/3CIui0y) Monitor/Speaker: Peavey PR10P (new model: https://amzn.to/3nAH118) Mixer: Behringer Xenyx Q502USB (https://amzn.to/3ypH3gb) FX pedal: Zoom MS-50G (https://amzn.to/3ETld7b) Connect MAIN R to FX processor INPUT. Connect FX processor L (MONO) OUTPUT to L (MONO) input of any open channel; this will be the FX CHANNEL. Connect MAIN L to desired output device--speaker, interface, etc. Turn FX CHANNEL PAN all the way LEFT; we do not want any of this channel to feed RIGHT and back into itself. The PAN knob on the remaining input channels (your mics or instruments) will now act as a blend knob for WET (100% effect) and DRY (NO effect). PAN all the way LEFT will be 100% DRY, PAN all the way RIGHT will be 100% WET. PAN in the center will be 50/50. So you can adjust it where you want it! If you don't want any FX on a channel, PAN it all the way LEFT. ***For STEREO FX: If your mixer has an FX SEND but no return, then you can use an open STEREO channel as your STEREO RETURN and get STEREO FX, just turn FX SEND on this channel all the way down. Here, you will not need to use the PAN knobs to split the channel because your will be feeding the FX processor with the designated FX SEND knobs from each channel. ***NOTE: Some guitar pedals will not handle a line level signal well. It may distort or sound poor, and it could cause damage to certain older pedals. You may be able to compensate by decreasing the level sent to the pedal so that the signal is no longer overloading (clipping) the pedal. If this does not work, then you will need a reamp box to connect your guitar pedal.
