Recently We went for a weekend tour by our private car during puja .Our destinations were Bishnyupur(Mukutmanipur) and Jhargram. You can visit Mukutmanipur during anytime of a year. During the monsoon (July and August-September) the lock gates of the dam generally remain open.The Winter season is best to plan a picnic in Mukutmanipur. At that time the weather is very cool and a light fog stays behind the dam. The sunrise and sunset at Mukutmanipur gives extraordinary beauty of this place. Let’s see how to reach Mukutmanipur Dam. Then You have to take bus or hire a taxi to reach Howrah Railway Station.From there you will find trains are available to the nearest Railhead Bankura Station.From Bankura lots of Public Buses are available for Mukutmanipur via Khatra.Take a toto or bus to reach Bankura Bus Stand. Jhargram Palace-The Jhargram Raj Palace is the current residence of the Malla Deb Royal family. Situated in Jhargram district, West Bengal. About 10 rooms on the ground floor have been converted into a Heritage Hotel run by the family. Chilkigar Rajpalace- Chilkigarh is a village and a gram panchayat in Jamboni CD block in the Jhargram subdivision of the Jhargram district in the state of West Bengal, India. Dulung River-It is one of the main tributaries of the Subarnarekha river. It originates (The Tail or River Source) near Dulungdiha. It terminates with it's confluence with Subarnarekha River near Rohini. Kanakdurga Temple-ing Gopinath has built the temple which is estimated to be more then 500 years old. The king dreamt the idol of Goddess Kanak Durga, and he built the temple of the goddess. As the name suggests Kanak, the idol, is completely made of Gold and is 2(two)feet in hight. It is believed that human sacrifice formed a vital ritual during the times of the royal. Until and unless the sacrificial blood reached the Dulung River, the ritual continued. Visit to Kanak Durga Temple gives a thrilling experience of natural beauty. It is about 14 km away from Jhargram town. The century-old temple is located in the forest beside a small charming river named Dulung. Several rare species of trees, birds and monkeys can be seen here. There’s a spot called Kendua on the way to Kanak Durga. Migratory birds visit the area in winter. A half an hour visit through the dense forest gives a charming experience.
