SOUNDBITE (English) Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, writers, directors and producer - on the play: Ross: "I mean, it's wild, This was never obviously part of the plan. But, you know, Stephen Daldry came to us about four years ago with the idea to bring a 'Stranger Things' story, but an original 'Stranger Things' story onto stage. And so it really was his passion that drove this. And as we were breaking the last season, we said–I think there was some story that about Henry Creel, who is one of our main villain, that we introduced about. We're like, 'Well, there's more story here than we're able to fit in the show.' And we thought it was some ripe territory to cover. And so we pitched it to Stephen. And here we are four years later with this play. It's really a surreal experience, but sort of a dream come true." 4. SOUNDBITE (English) Kate Trefry, playwright-screenwriter - on the play: "The play was designed because I was writing season four and season five during the time that I was writing the play. It's built and designed to be connected to both seasons. It works as a standalone piece, but it's, you know, we put a ton of effort into kind of puzzle piecing this thing in, so that it's really a bridge between seasons." 5. Medium of Shawn Levy 6. SOUNDBITE (English) Shawn Levy, executive producer - on the play: "Isn't it amazing?" (Reporter: "It feels like being inside one of the episodes of the show.") "Yes, that's what I love. It's like we're taking some viewers and we're taking fans and non-fans, just audience members, and we're kind of smashing the screen of the television and putting them inside Hawkins and there's a visceral immediacy to the play that I'm sure you felt when you saw it." 7. And I have the best co-star in the business, Millie Bobby Brown. So they're getting ready to start filming again. You know, season five. And you know, you don't get that call. So it's sad, but I'm happy. I'm happy for all the people and I'm happy for the Duffer Brothers because this is going to be now an opportunity for them to continue their journey, their artistic journey, and new and exciting shows." 9. Finally. We had the pandemic for season four, and then we had an unprecedented double strike in our industry. So it's been postponed, but it's given us, you know, extra time to to write and make sure that the last season is as good as it can be. So, you know, there's been some positives to come out of it for sure." (Reporter: "Last question. What can fans expect from the last season and how many people are going to die?") Matt: "Without question, the scale's bigger than it's ever been. It's humongous. But, you know, the focus really is making sure we get the final story of these characters right.
