Well, that is not entirely true. Christians throughout history have followed this standard - When the state commands that which God forbids, or forbids that which God commands, we have the duty to obey God rather than man. This means, if God gives a clear command or instruction on how to live, as seen in His scripture, we are to follow that rather than obey government. Meeting together as believers. Not aiding and embedding lies. Working. Quarantining the sick - not all of society. Not giving way to fear. These are all commands and instruction put forward in the Word of God, however we see that American Christianity is going against these instructions not meeting together, wearing masks, and staying at home.
