This timeless Sanskrit chant was created in 2002 during the first collaboration between Craig Pruess and Ananda Vodvic. It resulted in the best selling album, "108 Sacred Names of Mother Divine" ("Sacred Chants of Devi"), which has been championed over the years by leaders of the human development movement. This "Devi Prayer" is the second track from the album, and it is deeply meditative and devotional, and expounds the divine qualities of the Divine Mother. It can be used for yoga, meditation, contemplation, healing sessions and/or prayer. Many people have sent me messages that their son or daughter was born to this music, or that their loved one had passed on while this was playing. I am just glad to have been of service to the world. Both Ananda and I feel that we "stepped aside" and simply let the divine energy express itself through us. In fact, we both had the experience that Mother Divine came in the room when we were recording this. The energy was so intense, that Ananda actually stopped singing and she went into a trance, with her eyes rolled up into her head. We sat in this powerful silence for 15-20 minutes, and then she whispered: "It's OK, we can continue." Later Ananda told me that Mother Divine had blessed this recording and that She had clearly indicated to Ananda that it would become known all around the world!
