A standout even among the rich web of state and national recreation lands in Southern Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park is one of those "bucket list" destinations. Mainly due to the immense concentration of "hoodoos"—individual rock spires and pinnacles long weathered down from larger walls, towers, and castles. So many present, here, that the park does not (cannot?) maintain an official tally. This "canyon" is rather multiple amphitheaters sitting just below a plateau. From the rim, copious hoodoos and farther landmarks appear boundless. For visitors having enough time and yearning to see as much up-close as possible, try the Figure-8 Combination. Covering 6.4 miles and gaining 1,575 feet, the grand loop strings together three equally impressive and popular objectives: Queen's Garden, Peekaboo Loop, and Navajo Loop. But ambitious hikers should prepare their favorite travel bags. Where else could one be among The Queen, The Pope, fairies, temples, and castles altogether? Of course, there was a "Thor's Hammer" hoodoo. The worldwide, supernatural escapade would be fitting, since this was the greatest assembly on Earth. Photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/mjWsf2xrfJF... But Bryce Canyon was another, unimaginable level altogether. And its exceptional beauty and uniqueness were no secrets. Combined those qualities with being a highly developed area, it meant I would want to be there earlier than usual. Thus, before 7 o'clock on a pleasant Thursday morning, I set out on the ultimate park hike. Looping counterclockwise (Navajo Loop first) made more sense. If not, later on I would be required to squeeze my way up the constricted Wall Street corridor in bonafide Manhattan-style human traffic. But except for the "dust, piss, shit" stress (you will need to watch to understand the reference), I was largely allowed calm. Just to be dazzled by everything I saw. Everywhere I turned. All at once. #Hiking #LeaveNoTrace
