Silent Hiking JJ Shepherd Memorial Forest to Smitty's Bog

JJ Shepherd Memorial Forest is located on Mattakeesett Street in Pembroke, Massachusetts. The trail is extremely well maintained and is also a section of the Bay Circuit Trail. After leaving the gravel parking lot for the baseball fields, the trail brings you out and close to Indian Head Pond and Maquan Pond. The trail then leads you to a very large open area which is called Smitty's Bog and is in the town of Hanson. The Bay Circuit Trail forks away from Smitty's Bog and heads towards Camp Kiwanee Road and the other trail brings you to the trailhead parking lot for Smitty's Bog (the route Zeke and I took). There are many intersecting trails in Smitty's Bog with lots of great forest views and a fantastic view of Indian Head Pond. #hiking #nature #hikingtrails #aussie #relaxing #southshore
