This lecture comprises the mechanism and pathway involved during the transport of nutrients from solution to the root cell wall and apoplasm to the cytoplasm through the plasma membrane. Then discussed the passive and active modes of nutrient transport at the cell membrane. This lecture detailed also about the radial transport of nutrients from the epidermis to the xylem. Here we also focused on the symplast and apoplastic pathways how they are regulated and the role of plasmodesmata. Finally, this lecture covers the xylem loading and the role of transporters.
