The beauty of this is watching a self-confessed sceptic hired by the BBC to assess Reiki as a student, unexpectedly being turned into a healer. It's a must to show sceptical friends and family. This is filmed evidence that even a sceptic can do Reiki! • BBC TV Heaven & Earth Show - featurin... (click to skip straight to the Reiki segment) In 2000, BBC filmed Allan J. Sweeney's Reiki 1 & 2 courses, and showed them on the Heaven and Earth Show on BBC 1. BBC chose dour UK comedian Mike Harding to sit in on the class as one of the students. It was obvious he was highly sceptical, and believed Reiki would not work. His deep scepticism is shown in film on the first day, by negative body language, serious expressions, and comments. Knowing Mike Harding's negative attitude, Allan J Sweeney was concerned the BBC might therefore also be sceptical, and do negative editing. It felt a big responsibility, not to show Reiki in a negative light on national TV. Before the class started on the second day, Allan J Sweeney invited Mike Harding for a walk on the beach outside his Reiki Centre, Heaven-by-the-Sea. 'What do you think of Reiki so far?' Allan asked. The response was more negative than expected. 'Rubbish!' Mike said harshly. 'I don't believe a word of it! It's all a load of rubbish.' Allan's heart sank. This was due to go out on national TV. Luckily Allan knows numerous research studies showing Reiki works. 'Well, that's your opinion,' he replied gently. 'But did you know a psychiatrist and researcher did an unofficial 'study' to see how many people could actually do Reiki?' 'No.' 'OK, so how many people out of 100 do you think the researcher found could do Reiki?' Mike seemed totally disinterested. 'No idea.' 'Have a guess. How many out of 100 could do Reiki?' 'Not many probably.' 'Actually, out of every 100 people, they found about 96 could do it.' Mike glanced at Allan. 'That means,' Allan continued, 'That out of 100 people there's only about 4 who can't do Reiki. It's going to be a great shame for your program if you're one of the four that can't, isn't it?' Mike didn't reply, and he and Allan walked back for the start of the class, in awkward silence. After teaching theory, Allan guided students into a special method that creates a specific low frequency of energy in their hands. 'Wow!' Mike exclaimed off camera. 'It's really hot! It feels like I could boil a kettle!' Later, Mike is shown giving Reiki to another student. He is filmed making sheepish but positive comments of what he felt and saw! It is obvious he's discovered the reality of Reiki. At the end of the class, on the course evaluation sheet, he scored the teachings top marks 10 of 10, and asked if he could do the next level! In the film summary, walking alone on the beach, Mike admits that when he arrived he was deeply sceptical. And ends, 'Would I call myself a Reiki healer now? Well, maybe!' It's a powerful piece of film. Show this to skeptics you know. Maybe they'll also become Reiki healers. :) To find out more about Reiki, visit Allan's Reiki website: http://www.reiki-healing.com To find out more about Allan J.
