Three Incredible Days Riding the Alps

On the tail end of a trip to Italy, I had the luxury of riding from the northwest Piedmont, Italy region to Verbier, Switzerland. This involved a massive trip over San Bernard Pass over the course of a 130 mile day. That route is seen here:   / strava   Then on our first day in Switzerland, we rented mountain bikes and had an amazing afternoon sessioning the Verbier ski area. I've taken one ski lift with a bike in my life and that was rural Pennsylvania, so this was a treat to ride up over 8,000' elevation.   / strava   The next day was tallying as much elevation as possible in a region as close to Verbier as possible. Okay, not really, but that's the way it shook out. Four climbs and nearly 13,000' of climbing.   / strava   The trip was effectively done by now, but we rode the final point-to-point to Geneva, which involved a brief ride through France.
