Yala National Park - Safari in Sri Lanka! PART 2 of the BEST Two Week Travel Itinerary

Yala National Park has the highest concentration of leopards in the world! Located in the south eastern corner of the beautiful country of Sri Lanka, we visit Yala in the hope of realising a lifelong dream - to see a leopard in the wild! Do we or don’t we find this elusive cat? You’ll have to watch this video, PART 2 of our amazing journey in Sri Lanka, to find out! The Panthera Pardus Kotiya (aka Sri Lankan leopard) is native to the island of Sri Lanka and they are found in a range of habitats from open savannah to rainforests. It is unfortunately classified as endangered due to hunting for trade, fragmentation and habitat loss. I hope that by raising awareness, something can be done for these majestic creatures in the future. Along the way, we see many other incredible animals, with Yala known for its sloth bears, pangolins, elephants, mongoose, peacocks, terapins and of course, monkeys! We have experienced safaris in Africa but it was wonderful to see so many animals in the wild on another continent. We are spending 2 weeks in the resplendent isle of Sri Lanka, so be sure to catch up on PART 1 where we discovered the beautiful cultural triangle, took a hair raising train ride through hilltop country and discovered tea plantations that serve as an homage to Sri Lanka’s colonial past. Additionally, look out for the upcoming PART 3 where we journey to the beautiful southern coastline! Thank you to all who have supported me and encouraged me to continue making videos. I hope you enjoy this one! Thank you especially to ‪@mstarling79‬ for his incredible footage of the safari animals. Not all heros wear capes! A x P.S. - my sincere apologies for the incorrect costing displayed in this video! Each half day safari (4 hours) was $70 US per person. #yala #yalanationalpark #visitsrilanka #srilankatourism #srilankatravel #srilanka #safari #safari_park #safarivideo #safarivlog
