Not that long ago we reviewed good old National Bohemian, AKA "Natty Boh." Both of us gave Natty Boh a failing grade. However, to be fare this go around we have decided to try the premium or what was billed as the "gentleman's" version of Natty Boh back in the day. Than's right, National Premium. Recently, National Premium was resurrected by a nostalgic Marylander who contract brews it with Fordham Brewing in Dover, Delaware. Hopefully, this beer will be a step up from the famous Boh. Enjoy, the show. WRITTEN REVIEW FOLLOWS: A: Clear, light golden piss color with a thin white head that forms an dissipates quickly. The color is a bit darker than Natty Boh. S: Light cooked grains and a trace of malt sweetness, very faint hops. No skunk or alcohol smell. Nothing else. T: Corn, malt and adjunct sweetness and very little hops. M: Thin, watery, too much burp inducing carbonation. O: If you are from the Baltimore area you have probably swilled a Natty Boh. This is beer is slightly better than Natty Boh. Though Johnny did not like this one I gave it an average grade. Given the right hot weather conditions or maybe som spice steamed crabs I could drink a couple of these with our a fight. However, this is by no means a beer that I will seek out. REPORT CARD: Johnny = C- DJ = C Both of us rate this beer higher than Natty Boh. CHEERS!!!!! DJ Thanks For Watching.
