I'm building up an HP Z840 workstation to be my primary workstation after passing on the Dell T7910 to my wife. I thought I found a great deal on a HP Z840, but later found out it's the model with the 850W power supply! The problem with the HP Z840 with 850W PSU is that they only provide a single 6-pin GPU PCIe power connector! This wasn't going to be enough for the GPU I plan to use! So, I started researching how to upgrade the 850W PSU to the 1125W PSU. At first, I thought it would be pretty straight forward, but learned quickly that it was a lot more involved. So, in this video, I'm going to share with you the process of upgrading the HP Z840 PSU from the 850W to the 1125W model.
