Bruins vs. Blues 1970 Stanley Cup final highlights Bobby Orr Dan Kelly

Highlights from the Boston Bruins vs. St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup final in the 1970 NHL playoffs. Games 1 and 4: CBS Sports, announcer Dan Kelly, analyst Bill Mazer. From "Frozen in Time", a Boston Sports Museum DVD on the 40th anniversary of the Bruins' '70 Stanley Cup win. Games 2 and 3: WSBK-TV Boston, announcer Don Earle, rerun on NESN's Fan Attic. This is a handy-dandy compilation of series highlights; I'd seen them all on YouTube seperately but never on one file. I also used the sharpest video I could find. It's not all great, but it's watchable. After dispatching the Rangers in 6 and the Blackhawks in 4, Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Derek Sanderson, Gerry Cheevers, and the Big, Bad, Bruins battle Phil Goyette, Red Berenson, and Glenn Hall in a series Boston sweeps. Brilliant defenseman Orr, who was all-everything that season, fittingly scored at 40 seconds of OT to clinch the Cup, his first goal of the series even though he had dominated. The on-ice celebration is awesome (the locker room celly is elsewhere on my channel), as there might have been teams equally loved by fans, but none more loved (this team and the 1967 Red Sox are my favorites). Ted Green, who comes on the ice, was a rock-ribbed defenseman who missed that season after he was struck in the head during a stick fight in an exhibition game, suffering a fractured skull and brain damage. Veteran wing and captain Johnny Bucyk finally getting to carry the Cup around was tremendous. And kudos to the person who tossed the Pabst Blue Ribbon inflatable 'can' on the ice, product placement before any of us knew what that was! The best hockey announcer ever, Dan Kelly, exhibits all his full-throated mastery in the Sunday afternoon games, and his legendary call of Orr's goal can be recited by most Bruins fans. Local guy Don Earle is excellent, too. Copyright, National Hockey League, Boston Bruins, or any other party. I don't claim the rights to, and don't profit from, any of these highlights. I just posted them for historical and educational purposes, and for those who would enjoy them as much as I did. https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs... https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs... https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs... https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxs...
