FOOD in SOUTH AFRICA is a mystery. Before visiting Cape Town I had no idea what the locals ate. South African food has been influenced by so many different cultures, it can be hard to define. But at the end of the day... it is one thing. Delicious. I spent a month in Cape Town, and I had the chance to really dig in and try some of the local cuisine. From the cheapest street food such as with Boherwors Rolls or Gatsbys, to eating at nicer restaurants like "Den Anker" and "Gold".... and you'll find Ostrich at every step of the way. If you're planning to visit South Africa or Cape Town, it can be overwhelming trying to decide where to eat. I totally get it. Hopefully these recommendations help.
