Extreme ME Controller With 22 841 Channels - Applied Energistics 2 Creative Build (MC 1.7.10)

A creative build where I tried to max out an ME Controller, to get as many channels as possible available for usage. Read below for info and updates on the subject! For example, where those extra 25 channels came from :) No one should ever need this many channels, and doing such design is hard to both build and maintain. The main purpose of this build was to investigate different building techniques for ME Controllers, and I wanted to see how far I could push the limit for such design. If you need lots of channels, the design methods used in this video can absolutely be used. But I recommend doing only exterior tunnels, the "inside" tunnels are very hard to reach without breaking things. The math: 188 ME Controller blocks Exterior: 578 Tunnels giving 18496 channels. Interior: 135 Tunnels giving 4320 channels, 5 sides on the outside are required to extract these tunnels. In total: 22816 channels through P2P tunnels, but there are a few more that I forgot when I recorded. The 5 sides can carry 160 channels, and since 135 are for tunnel outputs we still have 25 channels to go. In the end that means that we have 22841 channels! I have spent many hours on this build (at least 10 in total), and have really tried to find the most effective design. At the time of the release, I have not seen any other build with more channels. I don't know if it's the theoretical maximum, but even so, I think it's almost maxed out. There's also the possibility that I might have missed to connect a side, but I tripple checked the math and it seems to be correct. It should be quite easy to improve the cabling though. But in some areas it's tricky to get good cabling due to the controller being non-symmetrical. I had symmetrical designs first, but by doing this I could find a few hundred channels more ;) The large "base" with the backbone system I mentioned is covered in this video:    • Large AE2 Network Design Guide - Appl...   If you need a proper design guide for around 2000 channels, check this video for a 3x3x3 controller:    • Effective ME Controller Design - Appl...   I have prepared an album on Imgur, it doesn't contain more info than found here, but can be useful anyway: http://imgur.com/a/ceG7i Key items and topics for this video: - ME Network - ME Controller - Dense and Smart Cable - ME P2P Tunnel I have done several videos about AE2, so if there are items or blocks not covered in this one they can probably be found in another video.
