THE HOBBIT MOTION PICTURE TRILOGY 4K UHD BLU-RAY REVIEW

This pack of six 4K discs includes separate discs for the original theatrical version of each of the three films as well as the extended editions and was sent through to me by Mark S. for me to take a look at. Both Mark and I only watched the theatrical versions and I think we both feel that these versions are long enough. The aspect ratio for each is approximately 2.40:1. Sound is Dolby Atmos. I had only ever seen the first 'The Lord of the Rings' film previously which firsr released to cinemas but found that a bit slow and dull and hence why I haven't bothered with anything that has followed until now. I do find these Hobbit films somewhat slow but given their success and the following they have, that is only my perception of them and it doesn't matter what I think - the movies are successful enough and given how spectacular they look and the ambition that went into them, they have to be admired. They also took a fortune at the box office and presumably also added substantially to that with the myriad home video/streaming options so it's all been good for the film and cinema industry.
