About me Jonathan Rhodes (Groningen, NL) is a storyteller with little pretence. He takes the stage as the antihero of his own adventures. The not-so-bold idealist, jealously looking at unfettered explorers, while lacking the courage to begin a more simple life. Rhodes writes excellent songs with lyrics that make you wonder. He doesn't like the label of singer-songwriter but he can't deny it fits him well. His sound leans on Americana with a hint of gospel. Small and fragile songs meet up-tempo roots rock, getting listeners ever closer to the edge of their seats. Jonathan Rhodes' debut EP Dirt was released in 2022. Dutch music website 3voor12 wrote "It is an exemplary introduction to his abilities. This storyteller is driven by quality and vision, and is extremely convincing as a songwriter.". Earlier, Rhodes won the POPgroningen Talent Award and was awarded the Grote Prijs van Nederland public award. "His songwriting ability is excellent; a very well deserved finalist."
