Hello The Way We Wore Fans, Are you guys ready for 2022? Well, even if you have some trepidation here is a video to spark your 2022 Fashion History Interests. Doris in this video talks about the corset, which has been in existence since the 16th century, while underpinnings have been in existence since 300 B.C. going all the way back to ancient Egypt. There are several forms of corsets from stays, which are fully boned and known to create the cone shaped silhouette of the 16th century, jumps which are made from fabric but not boned (usually) helps with shape, corselets which are more of a belt that showcase the waist, girdles which are more in the 20th century to create more of an s-shape. Lingerie is the foundation of all fashions. Today we wear the foundations as actual fashions from designers Vivienne Westwood, Mugler, Gaultier, and Versace.
