Hi, this song is a dear old favorite of children and adults from way back. The original words, "Jesus loves me," are taken from John 3:16, and other New Testament passages. We know that Jesus loves us, for He was willing to die for sinners like us. Jesus Loves Me was written by Anna Bartlett Warner in 1859. She originally wrote two stanzas.
