The Ultimate Bikepacking Setup. Is there an ultimate setup? Does it include panniers? We think so! Since posting videos of our recent bikepacking trips here we have had many questions about the bikes, the luggage, the bags, the setup & the gear… and hardly any questions about the actual travels. So we figured we’d made a short video explaining all of that and why we think this is the ideal setup. Handlebar bag, frame bag and saddle bag is the standard bikepacking setup. Big heavy panniers front and rear is the standard cycle touring format. We think we have nailed the ultimate hybrid model between the two. Panniers are definitely not necessary for short & pure bikepacking trips, but for longer trips they win. Convince us otherwise!
