Youtube applies compression to all videos, and this does affect the audio quality, unfortunately. When editing the audio for basses with multiple pickups (Pickups combined Equally, Neck Pickup Only, Bridge Pickup Only), the signal levels have been largely left so that a listener can hear the volume difference between the various pickup positions. This results in certain positions sounding louder than others. The JB 71 dials in 70s tone - more open to the top end of the spectrum, greater range up high. Compared to the Aguilar 4J-70, we hear a bit more upper mid range with the JB 71 set. An ever so slight bit of scoop in the mid range. As always, keep in mind that these are generalizations.
