This picture represented an attempt by the Navy to convince sailors not to desert in the wake of V-J Day, but to wait for honorable discharges and the many benefits waiting in civilian life including the opportunity to attend college. The film is a noteworthy sibling of the "Road to Home" series of seven feature films starring Crosby, Hope, and Dorothy Lamour. These feature comedies are also often referred to as the "Road" pictures or the "Road" series. The movies were a combination of adventure, comedy, romance, and music. Some of the sequences in this short are comic sketches from the Road Show series of movies. We encourage viewers to add comments and, especially, to provide additional information about our videos by adding a comment! See something interesting?
