Reviews the argument of the book and continues on from the Great Confinement and Primitive Accumulation, to developments in symbolic, imaginary, and therapeutic treatments of the insane, the delirious, the over passionate. The treatments that dominated in the confinements are reviewed and found wanting. A new moral panic emerged about madness around 1800 that led to a new division of the mad, who remained confined and separated from other populations (many of whom were now freed). The book ends with a review of reform minded therapeutics that emerged in the newly born asylum.
