62/65

Still kind of in shock that I got this! I went to two competitions this weekend, each comp having 2 multi-blind attempts. Drove from San Diego to San Francisco for the first comp, then 2 hours after that comp drove to LA for the second competition. This WR was the 4th attempt out of 4...after having gotten ~5 hours of sleep each night for 3 nights in a row before this, and driving for ~16 hours in 2 days, and eating nothing but fast food for 3 days. I ditched two cubes outright in this attempt because I completely forgot the memo for them, and felt like I guessed on memo for several other cubes, thinking that I may be recalling memo from the attempt done in the competition the day before where I used the same memory palace and the memo was still fresh. Combining this with the circumstances mentioned earlier, I was completely not expecting to get world record here, but somehow I did. I guess having low expectations is the key 🤷‍♂️ For most of the time since my previous world record in November 2019, I've had a lot of issues with motivation and self-doubt, and I felt that I may never beat my world record again, or improve much at all. That being said -- my PB at home now is 65/67 (63 points) and I feel like I can improve that a good deal as well, so I now feel very motivated to improve this world record. I want to try to be the first to push the WR to over 60 points, and beyond. Thanks to all my friends, online and IRL, who have been so supportive! And special shoutouts to Matthew Dickman for graciously letting Brandon and I stay at his house the night before and for delegating this competition (he also judged my previous WR, the man is clearly a good luck charm). Also thanks to Josh Weimer for the alternate angle which you'll see near the end, that shows more of the reaction after finishing. Unfortunately my camera angle was not the greatest for this whole attempt so that was nice to be able to include. Memorization: 38:44 = 35.75 memo/cube Execution: 19:03 = 17.59 exec/cube For more details and also a full unedited video, follow the link below:    • 62/65 57:47 Multi-Blind World Record ...   ————————————————————— Cubes: Yuxin Little Magic (non-magnetic) Instagram: @siggstagraham My twitch:   / sigalig   My list of cubing PBs: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
