Evolution Craft Brewery Menagerie No. 10 is a Russian Imperial Stout that clocks in at, 12.0% ABV. I am big fan of RISs and I have had a great deal of affinity toward Bell's barrel aged beer in past reviews. Evolution Craft Brewery describes Menagerie No. 10 as follows: "It has been a while but our Menagerie series is back with Menagerie #10 a Russian Imperial Stout aged on whiskey barrels. Evolution’s Menagerie Series is an assorted creation of one-offs that will (probably) never be seen again. They are usually (but not always) oak aged and often (but not exclusively) blended.." This description really sounds quite tasty. Lets see Evolution Craft Brewery Menagerie No. 10 lives up to its description. Hope you enjoy the video, my written review and report card follows: Evolution Craft Brewery Menagerie No. 10 REVIEW: A: Evolution Craft Brewery Menagerie No. 10 pours totally opaque black with a thin, quickly dissipating mocha colored head. Not much lacing or head retention but huge alcohol curtains cling tenaciously to the inside of the glass when this viscous liquid is swirled. S: Bourbon, charred wood, toffee, tobacco, BIG rich dark fruits, vanilla and alcohol. Very complex aroma that changes / develops as the brew warms. T: Bourbon, sweet malt, vanilla, wood, tobacco, leather, caramelized raisins and not as much alcohol and bourbon compared to the nose. Chocolate and coffee. The rich malt clings to your tongue for a while after your swallow the viscous black elixir. M: Viscous & chewy, mild carbonation. For a 13.4% beer the alcohol is very well hidden, but this is definitely a sipper. O - Evolution Craft Brewery Menagerie No. 10 is a very well made barrel aged Imperial Stout. I would drink this again and recommend it to anyone who see a bottle of this limited serving.
