Home to the Hebrides 2 - Glasgow to North Uist via Fort William & Isle of Skye

It's an absolutely stunning scenic drive in Scotland - probably the most scenic drive in Scotland. In this video we leave Strathclyde Country Park Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, and take the M74 through Glasgow and over the Erskine Bridge. Normally I would always advise against taking a caravan or larger motorhome along the A82 up the side of Loch Lomond between Tarbet and Crianlarich, but as traffic was fairly light and my vintage caravan fairly narrow, I thought I would take a risk. It wasn't too bad on this occasion. Then we have the STUNNING drive through across Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe to Fort William, where the lovely Kenny had picked up some essential groceries from me. We carry on along the A82 and A87, through Spean Bridge and Inverary, and alongside Loch Cluanie and Loch Ailse. A pause at Kyle of Lochalsh before crossing the Skye Bridge onto the Isle of Skye. Then it's a smooth drive, past The Cuillin, to Uig and the Calmac ferry from Uig to Lochmaddy in North Uist. I hope you enjoy the journey! PLEASE NOTE THIS JOURNEY HOME WAS UNDERTAKEN BEFORE THE 'LOCKDOWN' ANNOUNCED ON 23RD MARCH. Normally I would make a vlog a little shorter and 'tighter', but as I was editing this (during 'lockdown') I was missing the simple pleasures of towing my caravan along Scottish Roads. Therefore I have left this video to be 'slower' and more relaxed and include a little more detail than normal.
