21 Jumpstreet | Gh5 Anamorphic FVD16a |

First test with the FVD16a single focus. All shot in 4k Cine-D 4:3 50fps 8 bit, some shots with ETC. Taking lens: vivitar/cosina 55mm f2.1 Focal reducer: Lensturbo II Anamorphic lens with FMJ and FVD16a single focus from Rapido Technology Please read before leaving a comment: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had left the 'IS lock' on while filming by accident and had the wrong IBIS mm due to a calibration I did just before with a different lens set-up. I found out too late sadly. With IS lock mode on and the wrong IBIS the sensor jumps in a jerky motion when you move hence the footage is jerky/jumpy, had to cut out a lot of shots due to this. Note to self, check your IBIS! The FVD16a performs wonderful with the anamorphic adapter, the loss in sharpness is negligible, the corner sharpness is exceptional, even with the unavoidable field curvature. The Vivitar/Cosina 55mm f2.1 I used has the worst 'nisen-bokeh' ever (double line bokeh). At f2.1 it glows a bit but not in the good way, had to stop down to f2.8 for most shots. Please note this has nothing to do with the FVD, that performs as good as your taking lens will go. The only positive thing about the cosina is that it remains very contrasty with a strong light source in the frame. It doesn't flare though. But I'll probably never use this lens as a taking again. I'm fresh with Resolve after I migrated from PP so I experimented with different grading settings, still working on a solid workflow since there are flaws. The shots inside garage had an extreme green cast due to very old school fluorescents in the garage. I tried to normalize the hue's but it was a nasty job to correct. Will have to remove it in-cam manually next time. So, bad taking lens, shitty IBIS setting, horrible fluorescents, not the best footage but damn...I love the FVD16a.
