Just wanted to get this one done ASAP, and earlier today I learned that it was possible to deal with Metyr's event horizon attack without using Ashes of War to completely negate the massive hitboxes, such as Raptor of the Mists, or Miriam's Vanishing. I also was shown that you can place waypoints on the edges of Metyr's arena, making it slightly more clear where the invisible walls are before you run straight into them. All the credit for these strategies go to ‪@Dargonsouls‬ and ‪@scolopeendraa‬. However, these techniques result in the second phase becoming much less engaging, as the strategy for dodging her event horizon lasers relies on baiting out Metyr's airborne spinning attack, placing your only attacking opportunities during the end of that attack, or during her short cooldown where she can't do her event horizon attack again for a little while. All of this culminates in this encounter being extremely uncomfortable and taxing on your patience, while also including a little bit of luck as well. There's some pretty obvious mistakes throughout this attempt, and I even got quite lucky that I didn't die in some cases, but I am more than willing to overlook those and be happy that I don't have to deal with Metyr's lasers or goons any more.
