Live - Run To The Water | Live at TMF Awards | The Music Factory

Live performing ''Run To The Water'' at the TMF Awards. Live, an American rock band formed in 1984 in York, Pennsylvania, originated with its founding members Ed Kowalczyk (lead vocals, guitars), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), Chad Gracey (drums), and Chad Taylor (guitars). Notably, Ed Kowalczyk is the sole remaining member from the original lineup. The band first gained recognition with their single "Operation Spirit (The Tyranny of Tradition)" and its MTV-featured music video. Although their second album, "Mental Jewelry," achieved modest sales, Live's breakthrough came in 1994 with their third album, "Throwing Copper," which sold an impressive eight million copies in the U.S. This album included hit singles such as "Lightning Crashes," holding the top spot on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart for ten consecutive weeks. Throughout the mid-1990s, Live continued to produce successful singles, contributing to their overall sales of over twenty million albums worldwide. The band's lineup often expanded during tours, featuring additional musicians like Kowalczyk's brother Adam, keyboardist Michael "Railo" Railton, rhythm guitarist Christopher Thorn, and guitarist Zak Loy. In 2009, Ed Kowalczyk left Live, leading to singer Chris Shinn taking his place. The band released the album "The Turn" in October 2014. However, Kowalczyk rejoined Live in December 2016, and in 2018, they released a new EP titled "Local 717." In June 2022, Kowalczyk took majority control of the band and dismissed Chad Taylor. Subsequently, Rolling Stone reported that Chad Gracey and Patrick Dahlheimer were also let go. Despite the lineup changes, Ed Kowalczyk continued performing as Live with three touring musicians starting in October 2022. The band's dynamic evolution reflects both its historical success and its resilience in the face of changing personnel. Watch more TMF videos ► https://bit.ly/MoreTMF Join us.
