Then, I cleaned the button contacts thoroughly, but still, the controller didn't work. Determined to find a solution, I turned to the internet and discovered the "8 Bit Basement" YouTube channel, where they faced a similar issue. They solved it by replacing the Shift Register chip, so I decided to give that a try. Watch as I replace the chip and add some heat shrink tubing to the frayed cord to give it a nice finishing touch.
